Is this a dream? The world keeps shifting around me. Maybe I can take advantage of that to reach my goal...

Dream Shift is a 2D puzzle game made for Acerola Jam 0 on the theme Aberration.

The game consists of 16 main levels and 12 additional, more difficult levels.

---------------TUTORIAL AND TIPS---------------

Video tutorial here if you need it (on the jam version)

The character can't see what's behind it. When it rotates, the world that show is either the orange world if the tile was on the left of the character on the screen, or the blue world if the tile was on the right. You need to reach the star to finish the level.

You will find blue orbs in some levels that you need to push to their corresponding receptacle before going to the star.

Tip #1: The compass on the bottom left of the screen reminds you of what world will appear if you rotate (see the quarter of the compass that flashes when you rotate. It's the same color as the world that appears).

Tip #2: The color of the line of tiles above and below the character depend on whether they was seen from a clockwise rotation or a counterclockwise rotation.

Tip #3:  The tiles you see now won't change until they're out of sight.

Tip #4: You can push crates and orbs between the two worlds : if you push a blue crate into the orange world, the blue crate now belongs to the orange world.

Tip #5: A blue tile can't appear to the left of an orange tile and an orange tile will never appear to the right of a blue tile.

Tip #6: The color of the tile under the player doesn't change when it rotates.

My take on the theme was to think about the aberrations in dreams and lucid dreams. Usually, you can become lucid in a dream by noticing aberrations (unordinary situations, environment changing when you're not looking, etc.). The instability of the dream world is also a characteristic that dreamers can exploit to manipulate the world around them...

I can tell how the mechanics work a lot better in this one, I really like how you can tell how things are going to change a lot better!
